ESQUIMALT COUNCIL CAME TO AN UNANIMOUS POSITION WEDNESDAY NIGHT, THEY DO NOT SUPPORT THE LIQUID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN AS IT CURRENTLY STANDS, THAT BEING HAVING A CENTRALIZED PLANT AT MCLOUGHLIN POINT

ESQUIMALT MAYOR BARB DESJARDINS SAYS THEY ARE GOING TO DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO CHANGE THAT PLAN

“and we want the CRD to comply with the minister’s directives around appropriate public consultation, reuse of resources generating off-setting revenues which will reduce the cost to taxpayers, and aggressively reduce GHG emissions. And basically McLoughlin does not meet any of those requirements”
